wow this is MUCH better in black and white. very clean and simple and balanced. the color throws things a bit off balance, in my opinion. this picture is nearly perfect.

if only the safety pin was perfectly horizontal.

I really like the symmetry (sp?) of this piece. The square format is such a powerful additive in a shot like this. The only thing I can point that I would have done differently is crop another 1/2 from the top (or just move the center of the photo down a 1/2 inch). You can see just a little bit of your bottom lip, and IMHO distracts from the overall composition ever so slightly. But then again, many people may disagree and say they like it better the way it is. It's all in what you like. Great job though! :)

Oh god, that safety pin nearly killed me. Just trying to get the bits of the ribbon that hang down close to even in length I stabbed myself a few dozen times.

i second the cropping...i was staring at that little shadow/lip for a while wondering what to make of it. not to make you self concious or anything....

I agree with the comment above, the symmetry is excellent. I would like it more if the safety pin was encompassed by the black, but thats just personal prefrence. :) nice shot.

love the composition, and it looks great in black and white. The contrast is wonderful, the earings are a bit blurred, maybe make sure to steady the cam next time. Still a lovely shot though, nice work :)
